Neuroscience shows that what we think can literally rewire the brain. This is thanks to neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to form new neural pathways in response to repeated mental input. In other words, the brain learns what you tell it to expect.

If we’re constantly feeding it messages like, “I’m always tired,” “I’m sick,” or “I’ll never get better,” the body adapts to reflect that inner narrative. It stays in a sympathetic, stressed-out state—tight, tense, and disconnected. Our nervous system cannot be in growth mode if our minds are stuck in protection and fear.
